Godot4 port, completed tutorial and a skirmish mode!


My last post was more than a year ago, and during this time I worked on a lot of stuff. In retrospect, I should have posted earlier every time I got something finished, but you know how things are... anyway, here are the major changes:

New stuff:

- Godot4 : I ported the whole game from Godot 3 to 4. It was a good decision because the game got a significant boost in performance, and it will be easier to complete the multiplayer of the game using the new features that come with Godot 4.

- Tutorial mode: A complete tutorial is now available, this mode allows you to learn the basics of the game.

- Skirmish mode: You can now play the game... against BOTS! Lot of them (around 32 players). This mode is exactly the same as the multiplayer mode I am working on but limited to offline play with bots for now.

Missing things:

- I wiped the lore: I removed text about lore because it's not good enough at this point in time. It will revisited soon enough.
- Spaceship designs for bots: I created some designs that the AI can use, but I plan to add way more designs.
- All factions play the same: I still have not finished creating specific blocks restricted to specific factions.
- BALANCING!!!! : Values are really not balanced, this will take a long time, I fear.
- Multiplayer Mode:  I need to port the skirmish mode over network, this will take time for sure.
- Campaign Mode: For now, I don't plan to make a campaign mode, this is a lot of work for a lone programmer :)
